When you go after the same fish as groupers do, you may find yourself in an epic tug of war. That’s something spear fisherman Grayson Shepard learned the hard way during a dive off the coast of Apalachicola, Florida.

Shepard was spearfishing for snapper at a shipwreck site when several groupers decided to join in on the fun…by stealing all of his catches. After several encounters with the thieving fish, Shepard became more and more irritated — so much so that he refused to let go of his spear when one of the groupers took him for a surprise ride across the wreckage.

I personally choose to believe that the same fish kept stealing his catches over and over again. It just feels like poetic justice.
