These Look Like Incredible Landscapes, But They’re Actually So Much Cooler
It might not be readily obvious that artist Carl Warner began his professional life as an advertising photographer, but when you view his atypical landscapes through that lens, you’ll notice something perfectly meticulous about the way Warner can turn just about everything into brilliant landscapes.
By using food, clothing, and everything in between, Carl Warner’s work encourages us to look at the world with fresh eyes.
While shopping one day, Warner picked up a portobello mushroom and took a closer look. Instead of seeing a vegetarian staple, he saw an otherworldly tree. From there, his Foodscapes series was born.
His unique take on items that we ignore on a visual level almost every day inspires the adoption of a new perspective on the world around us, whether real or imagined.
After a while, the artist expanded his creative horizons by turning clothing, household items, and even human bodies into landscapes that appear wholly familiar at first glance.
