As the planet’s climate continues to change, people in many coastal regions are reporting extreme upticks in the number of jellyfish washing up on beaches. The vast majority of these critters are moon jellyfish, which are fairly common.

While moon jellies are still dangerous, they’re at least relatively small. When the giant lion’s mane jellyfish starts invading coastlines, however, we’ll have a serious issue on our hands. Everything about this footage makes me squeamish. I also had no idea that sea anemones could be carnivorous. I hate the ocean.
